Year-over-year and monthly changes are computed by Macro Edge Research from the BLS index levels; annualised rates are compounded from those monthly changes. Producer prices have no policy target, so no reference line is drawn. Health-care, airfare and portfolio-management components are published without seasonal adjustment and are shown as 12-month changes only. Coverage differs by chart because BLS introduced the Final Demand structure in 2009 and the component indices at various later dates; each panel states its own start, and selecting a range earlier than that leaves the panel empty rather than extrapolating it.
