Kuwait publishes two distinct upstream price indices and this page carries both: the wholesale price index (monthly; the price of goods sold into the domestic market, including imports — the pipeline into the goods side of consumer prices; base 2007 = 100) and the producer price index (quarterly; prices received by Kuwait's own producers, dominated by hydrocarbons; base 2010 = 100). Percentage changes are computed from the published index levels; the assembled histories reproduce every issue's own printed changes, and the parsed producer q/q is gated against each issue's printed figure. The two indices can diverge hugely — early 2026 printed +41% quarter-on-quarter producer inflation (+13% year-on-year) against +1.3% year-on-year wholesale — because the WPI weighs manufacturing at 90.0% and mining at 0.3%, and its electricity-and-water group is administered, pinned at its 2007 base value in every observable month; a crude surge reaches wholesale prices only through refined products and manufactured goods. Third-party aggregators commonly serve the monthly wholesale index under a producer-prices label; they are distinct indices, published separately by CSB. ·
